 There are many blogging platform , WordPress, blogger, wix, HubSpot and much more. Mainly, wordpress and blogger are mainly used for blogging purposes. Each of these have their own advantages and disadvantages, so in this blogpost we are going to talk about these two and at last we would see which of these two is better.

WordPress is the best platform to create any type of websites either dynamic or static. It has its own CMS, where one can easily go through and can publish pages, blogposts etc. . But for the purpose of blogging ,is it the best. 

Disadvantages of WordPress as a Blogging platform

1- It needs some technical knowledge to understand its backend and frontend. One should know where WordPress site is hosted and how that hosting server is working, Understanding the WordPress dashboard is necessary, like how to create menus(header ,footer, main menu etc.) for WordPress sites, understanding plugins, customization for mobile and desktop, etc. , if you are going to use it for blogging then you must do courses on WordPress developer.

2- It is cost effective, you have to buy the hosting, themes and domain , which may cost you a bit. 

3- WordPress websites use plug-ins which makes the size of the site bigger and it may not suitable for higher or faster mobile page speed insights, here you have to restrict yourself on using more plugins.

4- Back-up is an another issue here, if you do not know how to manually back-up your site then you have to install those plugins, which may defect the site for fast page speed.

5- Using tags and categories , this is mainly the biggest disadvantage, because when ever anyone writes a blogpost they might provide both tags and categories for the same, while either one of them should be used and those must be in the main menu also.

Advantages of WordPress as a Blogging platform

1- Well, if you gain a good training for wordpress, then you can create your blog website in whatever design you want. You can customize your theme , menus, etc.

2- Wordpress can be beneficial for SEO purposes, if you want to ceate blog website and do SEO on ot for getting more traffic then wordpress is surely better. It has its own SEO plugins which makes it easier,

3- Installing and managing tags like Google analytics, facebook pixel , search console tags becomes easier  , linking your website with any platform like Google adwords, mailchimp, chatbox, whatsapp etc. is easier here.

4- WordPress lets you design and create dynamic websites as per your requirement. For blogging ,this can be more suitable ,because when the site gets monetized then you can increase the ads format, keep tracking of views and clicks of those ads.

5-  Modernization or having a website with the most trending look , which makes users more engaged , this can be done here.

6- Security, Ownership and back-ups can be easily handled. 

7- You can easily implement AMP tags , and create websites for mobile responsiveness.

Blogger

This is a platform designed by Google itself, it was made for blogging purposes only, but this is not as updates as Wordpress, it may be better less time consuming or less cost , for blogging this can be better if you just want to start as a blogger. 

Disadvantages of Blogger as a blogging platform

1- Blogger is not suitable for SEO purposes, like redirection issues, your site might have been indexed but after sometime it may show some issues like crawled but not indexed. 

2- You cannot create a modern based site here

3- Blogger settings can be a problem if you do not know about Robots.txt, sitemap, archives, etc., well, blogger provides all these itself but many does not them.

4- You may need some coding experience if you want your blogger site have chatbox or email-us options or any pop up forms.

5- Here , you cannot use plug-ins like wordpress, so you must know how to link tags , manually backs-ups , and doing SEO can be a little difficult.

Advantages of blogger as a blogging platform

1- No need to buy themes or hosting, free blogger theme templates and free hosting by Google is provided.

2- Not to buy even domain, it is provided by Google in free.

3- Easier to use  , its dashboard is much easier than WordPress dashboard, you can easily go for implementing menus links, sidebar, customizing themes etc.
