How to analyse/track links clicks on google analytics ? Blogging

 So, if you are a blogger or affiliate marketing person and you want to know what internal or external got clicked or what affiliate links got clicked , you can simply analyze them using Google analytics. Google Analytics is the best platform to track page views, sessions , bounce rate and link clicked. For tracking them first you have to connect your website with Google analytics using GA 4 html code.  And then you will get a property id from there. Let us go towards a step by step procedure for tracking links clicked on Google Analytics.

1- Go to google analytics

2- Select your property /website on which you want to track links

3- Select Admin

4- Select Events under Data display





5- Select Create Events

6- Click on view more options

7- Select Click under Custom event name/ you can name it as internalclick when you want internal link clicked tracking , externallink when you want external link clicked track or affiliateclick when you want to track affiliate links clicks





8- In Matching condition you can configure according to your need ,like if you want to track internal links clicked then in Parameter select event_name ,operator as equals and value as click
and then click on "Add Condition" , give event_name as parameter , operator as "contains" and under value as "URL which you want track"

Now, in Add Condition-  if you want to track external links clicked then under value you can provide the web link which you want to track




In the above fig., you can see how one can use Add Condition options and configure Google Analytics link clicked tracking.

So in  "Add condition" options so you can adjust the track according to your need, you can select link_url and affiliation under parameter ,

9- Select Save and you are done with it.

10- After save you can mark it as key events and then click create. Now, in the key events you can see your cofiguration.
